Intercultural Communication: Developing Intercultural Competence (이문화 커뮤니케이션)
This course will to give students the proper strategies to communicate effectively and politely with people from cultures different from their own. Students will reflect on their own culture and how it affects their relationships with other cultures, as well as how to interact more positively. International students and Korean students who wish to study or work abroad are highly encouraged to participate in this course.

Criminality In Society
In this class we focus strongly on improving student‟s abilities to support their own ideas using evidence from the in‐class texts. We focus on using English to state an idea, and how to formulate evidence to make that idea a well‐supported and logical conclusion to reach from the film watched. Specifically, we look at what the „message‟ of a film is to each individual student, and examine ways of using both film and narrative techniques (such as, character,dialogue, setting, and key themes) to make arguments supporting the student‟s own ideas and understandings. In this way the class is both highly individualized to help students deeply engage with the materials, and also extremely relevant to real‐world academic and professional reading, writing, discussion, and analysis.

Business Computer Simulation Course
Imagine you are the CEO of a new company. How would you run your business?How successful would your company be in the marketplace? This Business Computer Simulation Course is for those students interested in the nuts and bolts, or basics, of creating, developing and expanding a business. This course would allow students to evaluate and integrate introductory and real-world business concepts learned in-class and apply them to a constantly-changing, simulated global business situation game. Students will compete against other companies in a "live" marketplace (their classmates) and try to end the business simulation game having the most successful company. Company status updates and presentations will replace the traditional exams and written homework in this class (as in the real, professional world).A maximum of 20 students can enroll in this course.
Students will learn the skills necessary to get a high grade on the computer speaking test. This test is necessary to get hired in Korean companies and also to get promoted to higher levels
This active class is, specially designed to prepare students for the TOEIC Speaking Test. Together we will practice all aspects of English related to the test such as vocabulary, relevance, and completeness. Each class will focus on learning how to answer one of the 11 questions in the TOEIC Speaking Test, and also improve basic English speaking skills.
To increase workplace communication competency so that students will be able to function effectively in a global workplace. Specifically, the students will be taught a series of tactics or strategies that will allow them to communicate effectively in a foreign language and to certain time and protocol constraints. Through this course, it is expected that students will increase their English vocabulary, and improve their fluency and use of idiomatic language.
This course encompasses an introductory knowledge on the definitions and nature of mythology and how language has evolved through the myths. The aim of this course will be to look at the certain people and characters across both fiction and real life, these people/characters will be examined based on their morality and whether they fall into the category of Hero or Villain. The factors that affect the morality of each character/person will be discussed within each section. This will help the students understand what factors affect the morality of an individual. Factors that will be examined include: Age, gender, ethnicity, history (family background), intellect, wealth, perspective/view of the world etc.The course will also look to answer broader questions such as: What does it mean to be both good and bad? Can a person be all good or all bad? What justifies a right/wrong action? What factors play into the morality of a character/person? What are some everyday applications of certain theories of morality?
Zombie Film Studies
Do you like zombie movies? Come take a look at a collection of zombie movies, how zombie movies have been affected by the world around us, and how zombie movies have affected the world. Each week we will view different movies related to the zombie subgenre of film. Viewings will be accompanied by lectures and discussions about various filmmaking topics, including: soundtracks/scores, cinematography, effects, plot, and editing. In addition, we will look at the social context of the films and how these elements affected the filmmakers and their messages. We will also explore larger philosophical questions about what it is to be "human," what it is to be "living," and what it is to be "dead".

In addition, smartphone films like Chauka and Tangerine have broken into mainstream film festivals, such as Sundance and the London Film festival.This course will explore the techniques used in creating the visual elements of film, while only utilizing smartphones. Students will be taught how to use the basic functions of the Filmic Pro filmmaking app, while also learning the traditional theory and elements of filmmaking.

This is an in class course that will introduce students to the different cultures of the world to widen their perspective that is important in understanding people in a multicultural society. The students will have the chance to explore why people from different parts of the world behave and act differently through readings, video presentations, and class interactions. This will enable students to recognize their own distinct culture and in effect respect the differences that exist among people in the world. Issues and concerns on cultures that affect society will be further discussed. Emphasis on the development of students’ English communicative skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking will be given importance as well as personality development and character building.
